What's in my makeup bag?

I have a lot of clients who constantly ask what the newest product reviews are. Upon getting a new makeup bag, I decided to update my blog, at least once a month, on things that have caught my eye. I'm not a huge makeup wearer, but being a Professional Makeup Artist means I need to stay up on the trends/hottest items. Here's what I have for you this week!

Louis Vuitton Toiletry Pouch 26: I finally decided that I would invest in a case that was a piece in itself. I take great care of the makeup that I use so I figure it was time to put on my big girl pants and buy a makeup bag that didn't have flowers or sparkles on it.

Sephora Professional Brushes:  The brushes I decided to go with were: All Over Shadow - Precision Crease - Precision Blush - Large Stipple. It has been over 2 years since I've upgraded! Its crazy how often I change out my professional brushes, but brushes for my personal use? I always get my own hand-me-downs. Since I do my makeup most often in my car, I needed to choose a few key brushes that would accomplish what I need and quickly. I'm happy with the choices! The biggest change in brush is the Large Stipple Brush. That one applies my powder evenly without going overboard with coverage and blends like a dream!

Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Eye Shadow: My review for these are that they are quite pretty when on, but getting them there is a bit of a challenge. Definitely not an eye shadow I would use on a daily basis, but more for special occasions or a creative shoot.

Josie Maran Argan Oil: I bought the travel size kit of the Argan Oil, Cleansing Oil and SPF last week. This week I was back buying full size products! I always recommend getting a smaller trial size of skincare if you can so you don't have to commit to a huge bottle. I am SO happy with this product. My skin (in the midst of crazy Chicago weather) has been dry, flaky and congested. In just a week I have seen significant reduction in blackheads/blemishes, my fine lines are softened and my skin just feels more plump with hydration. I use both morning and night since I have more dry skin, but they do have a 'Lite' version if you are more oily and worried about putting an essential oil on your face.

YSL Touche Elcat Radiant Touch: I have been using this as a brightening pen underneath my Chanel concealer and I adore how they work together. I have been working on a feature film which ends up being 14 hour days five days a week with work on the weekends so I'm a LITTLE tired. Just a little.. One pump under both eyes and smooth on with your ring finger after prepping with eye cream will work wonders on them dark circles!

Tory Burch Roller Ball: I just adore rollerballs. I keep one in my purse, one in my car and one in my makeup bag. Its the easiest way to apply fragrance and to make sure it is not over powering! I'm always worried my fragrance enters the room five minutes before I do, so this is a sure fire way to prevent that! I usually wear mens cologne, but this one wasn't too feminine! More citrus/musk with a HINT of floral. Floral and I don't have a good history so the Tory Burch Fragrance surprised me!

NARS Virtual Domination Cheek Palette: I have been after this palette for about a month now. I saw a preview of it and just couldn't wait to get my hands on it! Of COURSE things like this everyone else in the world wants as well so I had to be patient... (I don't do patient gracefully) Anyhow! This beauty has my all time FAVORITE blush; Deep Throat and NARS' infamous bronzer Laguna as well as three other beautiful blush selections and two of them are limited edition in this kit!

There you have it, my favorite new/old but still new to me products of right now! Now I'm off to go put my makeup on in my car while en route to a shoot.. Some things just don't ever change ;)
